Ogun Labour Party Tasks INEC on Ondo Poll

The party leaders said the credibility of Saturday’s election would serve as a litmus test for the nation`s electoral process.

Mr Kunle Olumade, the party’s senatorial Leader, urged the various security agencies to ensure that voters cast their vote without any fear of intimidation or molestation.

Olumade urged the people of Ondo state to go out en mass and cast their vote for Gov. Olusegun Mimiko based on his laudable achievements in the last four years.

``I want to urge the people of Ondo state with valid voter card to go out en mass on Saturday and vote for Gov. Mimiko.

``This is the only way to give him opportunity to conclude what he has started.

``Mimiko’s achievements in the area of health, education and infrastructure development are testimonies to the fact that he deserves a second chance,`` he said.

Similarly, Dr Adeleke Akinpelu, a Labour Party chieftain in Ijebu-Ode Local Government, urged INEC to ensure that votes were counted and results announced at the polling booths.

``That remain the only credible way to ensure free and fair election and the only credible way to reduce litigations at the election tribunals,’’ he said.

Akinpelu also urged security agencies to investigate the allegations that opposition parties in the state had imported hooligans to scuttle the electoral process.

Another party leader, Mr Abdul Gbede, urged Nigerians to pray for peaceful election in the state.
