Zanna, who stated this at a news conference in Abuja, said the JTF conducted a search in his home but did not find any incriminating evidence.
He accused the JTF of working in collaboration with Modu Sheriff to spread a campaign of calumny and character assassination against his person.
``My historic defeat of the former Governor of Borno State, in the person of Ali Modu Sheriff at the poll has not gone down well with many forces and individuals.
``This is the latest campaign by the JTF in Borno to disseminate falsehood against me, that even though, they arrested Bama at Sheriff’s house, they chose to tell the world that they arrested him in my house.
``This is part of the campaign to declare me a Boko Haram member, financier all to pave way for Sheriff to come back to the Senate by hook or crook, ‘’ he added
Zanna, however, denied any knowledge that the suspect was a member of the religious sect and expressed his preparedness to support government to achieve security in the country.
``I am not surprised about the arrest of my nephew. I don’t know him to be a member of Boko Haram, but I know him to be of bad character and a drug addict.
``I’m ready to stake my neck to do anything that will bring security to all Nigerians,’’ he said.
You will recall that the JTF, had over the weekend, announced the arrest of a suspected top commander of the Boko Haram sect, Shuaibu Bama, in the house of Sen. Zanna.
