Keyamo's Divorce Suit: Court Fixes Dec.4 for Adoption of Written Addresses

It was reported that Keyamo had dragged his wife to court seeking the dissolution of his

marriage with the respondent in 2010, after both parties had lived apart from 2003 to 2007.

He had told the court that their six year old marriage should be dissolved on the ground that it had broken down irretrievably.

At the resumed hearing of the suit, parties were directed by the court to prepare for the adoption of their written address to conclude the case.

Keyamo had claimed that his relationship with Irene has been awry, especially when he claimed that both of them had lived apart for more than three years after several misunderstandings.

He also claimed that on an occasion, his wife had locked him out, while he was forced to go and sleep in his office.

The lawyer had further alleged that his estranged wife did not know how to cook, and had fought him to the extent that she tore the tires of his four-runner jeep with a knife.

Irene, who is being defended by the Lagos State Office of the Public Defender (OPD), had said that she was not contesting the dissolution of the marriage.

She, however urged the court to make specific pronouncement on how the upkeep of the two children she had for Keyamo would be.

Irene also prayed the court to pronounce on the modalities for the custody of the children, their maintenance, discipline, stand of settlement among others before the final dissolution of the marriage

by the court.
