This is contained in statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja by the corporation’s Head of Public Affairs, Mr Brian Etuk.
According to the statement, the forum will offer motion picture practitioners, investors, financiers from both countries the opportunity to explore areas of cooperation.
The statement quoted the NFC’s Managing Director, Mr Afolabi Adesanya, as saying that the forum was expected to enable collaboration in co-production, marketing and financing of films.
Adesanya said that Nollywood was fast becoming a model for filmmakers in Africa and beyond, adding that the forum would enable a foundation for sustainable development of Nigeria’s motion picture sector.
He stressed the need for filmmakers to use the opportunity to expand their frontiers of film production, distribution and marketing.
He called on movie practitioners in both countries to take advantage of the opportunity the forum offered.
Adesanya also called on foreign and domestic buyers, marketers, producers and distribution companies to seek the unlimited business potentials in the film industry.
He said that in order to achieve its objective, the corporation would partner with the Western Cape Destination Marketing, Investment and Trade Promotion Agency of South Africa (WESGRO).
The statement said that the Nigerian Export/Import Bank (NEXIM), Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) and the Bank of Industry (BoI) would attend the forum.
Others are the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), National Economic Reconstruction Fund (NERFUND), film producers, marketers, distributors and exhibitors.
