DJ in court for allegedly assaulting hotelier

The defendant, Seyi Shekoni, is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, assault and stealing before an Ebute-Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court.

The prosecutor, Insp. Frank Inah, told the court that the defendant was smoking Indian Hemp on Oct. 29, at about 1.30 a.m. and assaulted the hotelier, Sunny Ndukuaba, at Saturn Hotel, No 106, Apapa road, Lagos

"The accused assaulted Ndukuaba, the managing director of the hotel, by slapping him on the chest, for challenging him as he was smoking Indian Hemp.  

"The Disc Jockey, who resides at 43, Abule-Nla, Ebute-Meta, also stole a gold neck lace, valued at N75,000, belonging to the hotel’s managing director," Inah said.  

The offences, according to the prosecutor, contravene Sections 409, 169 (6) and 285 (1) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011.
 
The DJ pleaded not guilty.

Magistrate M.O. Olubi granted the defendant a bail of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum, and adjourned the case to Dec. 3 for mention.
