Yero Pledges to Support Late Yakowa’s Family

 

Yero made the pledge while presiding over the valedictory session held in honour of late Yakowa at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Kaduna.

Reports say that the corpse of the late governor was brought in during the session, which started at 11:25am.

Also in attendance, were the deceased’s wife, Mrs Amina Yakowa and his four children: Kyola, Peter, Benedicta and Rose.

``His Excellency is here with us, the family is here 

``I will like to assure him and the entire members of this council and the people of Kaduna state that Her Excellency and all the children will be our responsibility.’’

Yero reiterated his commitment towards seeing to the welfare of the late governor’s family for his immense contribution to the nation and humanity.

``We will make sure that they are comfortable and as long as I am the governor of this state I will do all my best possible to make them feel happy.

``I will do all my best possible to see that they only miss the owner of the house; they will never suffer,’’ he added.

He assured the family of his commitment towards providing their needs whenever they arose and urged the widow to see him as her son.

The governor also stressed on the need for the 26 executive council members to emulate the virtue of patience as clearly exhibited by the late governor.

``That is the secret of the success in life,’’ he said.

He emphasised on the leadership quality of the late governor adding that both of them had earlier sat down and ``resolved to put all differences aside’’.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Education, Alhaji Muhammad Usman, described his working relationship with the late governor as excellent, heralded by the humility, dedication and hard work exhibited by late Yakowa.

The Commissioner for Justice, Mr Kish Adamu, said the late governor was a good public servant, intelligent and conversant with virtually all the affairs of all the Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

He assured that the government would continue with the work he had started, especially in achieving his three focal points: peace, unity and development.

Mr Sunday Marshall, the Commissioner for Water Resources, described the late governor, as an ``epitome of humility and patience’’.

Other Executives described the late Yakowa as a teacher, mentor, one who follows due process, patient, a listener, a leader, and  dedicated.
