Idowu's call is contained in a statement issued in Abuja by Mr Chibueze Okereke, Head of Communication, Media & Strategy, Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON).
The statement said that she made the call while assigning COSON as the management organisation for her musical works.
According to the statement, Idowu resigned as a member of the Musical Copyright Society of Nigeria (MCSN) and joined COSON.
The statement pointed out that Weird MC joined COSON along with some other musicians to work for peace, progress and change in the music industry.
``I have monitored COSON’s activities since it was approved by the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) in 2010
``Its collective management, organisation and the progress I have noted are overwhelming,'' the statement quoted Weird MC as saying.
The statement said COSON recently began the distribution of more than N100 million royalties to musicians across the country.
