Kidnapped Nollywood actress, Nkiru Sylvanus released

The beautiful actress,who was also a Special Assistant to the Imo state Governor on Public Affairs was kidnapped late Saturday night,along with 2010 Mr Nigeria, Kenneth Okolie and another passenger. Nkiru, Kenneth and the third occupant of the car were said to have  left a movie location in Owerri and were heading to another location when gunmen blocked their car between Concorde Hotel and Cathedral Road in Owerri, and took all three passengers.


Before her release on Thursday, the government of Imo State had responded to the kidnap by promising huge sum of money to anyone with useful information about her whereabout.
 
In a statement, the Imo state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Chinedu Offor said, “The Government of Imo State is aware of the kidnap of the Special Assistant on Public Affairs, Nkiru Sylvanus. All security agencies in the state are doing everything possible to get her back safely.
 
“The kidnappers have made contact with certain government officials. Government will offer a substantial reward to anyone with useful information about her whereabouts" the statement further stated.
 
It would be recalled that the kidnappers reportedly demanded that a ransom of N100million be paid to them before Nkiru could be released. She was abducted on Sunday morning few days after the release of Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala's mother, Prof Okonjo
