However, Babalakin has been offered bail and at the time of writing this story was in the process of perfecting the bail.
While responding to queries from ionigeria.com, the Spokesman for the EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwugiaren said, "it is true that he was arrested immediately he was discharged by LUTH. He has been granted bail and is in the process of perfecting the bail".
Uwugiaren also revealed that Babalakin will be taken to court On Monday January 14, 2013.
The EFCC has been after Babalakin for allegedly laundering the sum of N4.7billion on behalf of the convicted former governor of Delta State, Mr James Ibori.
Sources close to Babalakin however claim that the accusation is a witch-hunt aimed at stopping Babalakin from going to court to challenge the unilateral revocation of the Lagos - Ibadan Express Way concession by the Federal government
