Mr Yomi Awoniyi, the Deputy Governor, announced this in a press statement issued by his Press Secretary, Mr Michael Abu, in Lokoja on Monday.
Awoniyi made this known when he received relief materials donated by Lubcon Nigeria Limited, Lokoja.
The materials were meant for distribution to the flood victims in Banda community in Lokoja Local Government Area of the state.
Reports say that the company’s facilities were located in the community.
The deputy governor noted that the flood ravaged the community, destroying properties, including the proposed Lubcon Refinery and Petrochemicals location.
He commended the company for associating with the community in its moment of grief, adding that government would continue to put in place enabling environment for industries to thrive.
He noted that the effort was to encourage and attract investors to the state, pointing out that the free trade zone would be located in Lokoja.
Earlier, Mr Simeon Owojaiye, the Group Managing Director of the group, remarked that the donation was aimed at reducing the peoples’ suffering.
He called for collective efforts toward relieving people from the hardship.
