The Abeokuta Hiltop house is the official residence of Chief Obasanjo. The immediate cause of the fire is not known. But so far,the Penthouse is said to be badly affected.
Meanwhile, an Ogun State Fire Service truck marked OG 122 AO9 got to the scene of the fire incident an hour after it was detected and was quickly joined by another 10mins later even as men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, the Nigeria Police, State Security Service and close friends of the ex-president battled to contain the fire from spreading to other parts of the sprawling estate.
