The National Publicity Secretary of the conference, Mr Osita Okechukwu, made call in an interview with newsmen.
Okechukwu attributed the country’s under development to corruption, adding that the Federal Government could harness the material and human resources of the country to fight the menace.
He stressed the need for a joint effort between the Federal Government and states to harmonise the resources available in the country for the good of all Nigerians.
Okechukwu said true federalism was obtainable before the civil war in 1966 when the defunct regions ``did so well'' unlike the current dispensation.
On fiscal federalism, the politician said “the power at the centre is so much as government at that level is encroaching into allocation of states''.
He added that the situation had resulted to unfair revenue allocation formula where the Federal Government was taking about 52 per cent of federation revenues.
``If the Federal Government was to share the amount coming into its coffers, then development would be realised in the various states that make up the federation.''
