Jonathan congratulates Ogbemudia at 80

Ogbemudia, a former military and civilian governor of the default Mid West and Bendel respectively; Federal Minister and a PDP Chieftain, turned 80 on Monday.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr Reuben Abati, said the President wrote a letter conveying the birthday greetings to Ogbemudia.

In the letter, Abati said the president praised Ogbemudia’s ``enduring patriotism, courage, productive leadership and uncommon administrative acumen”.

``I write on behalf of my family, the Government and people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to express warm felicitations to you on the occasion of your landmark 80th birthday.

``Your enduring patriotism, courage, productive leadership and uncommon administrative acumen over the years have earned you a prestigious place of honour in the annals of our national development history.

``Decades after you left active office, your astounding achievements as governor and federal minister continue to be acknowledged with reverence and nostalgia.

``It is a testimony to your abiding faith in Nigeria that you continue to willingly give of yourself in the service of our Fatherland, and avail the younger generation of your wise counsel,’’ the president wrote.

Jonathan wished Ogbemudia a very happy birthday, and prayed God to bless him with ``continued robust health and many more years of worthy service to the nation and humanity’’
