Eleh told newsmen in Lagos that the difficulty in getting C of O was the reason people, especially workers, shy away from the National Housing Fund loan.
“Title to land or C of O is a major requirement before anybody can get a loan from the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria.
“The difficulty in obtaining this important document makes people not to border about getting the National Housing Fund loan.
“The state governments should ensure that they have functional land registries to expedite title documents and make it easily available to the citizenry,” he said.
According to Eleh, state governments stand to benefit from increased internally generated revenue that would accrue from the exercise.
