Agency Returns N28m Excess Fund to Zamfara Govt

Alhaji Sanusi Muhammad, the Executive Director of the agency, announced this in Gusau at a meeting with the executive council of the state’s School Feeding Officers Association.

Muhammad said the excess fund was for the second quarter of the programme and was realised at the end of the schools feeding programme in the last academic session.

He explained that the surplus was recorded due to the closure of the schools a week before the end of the session and the passing out of SS III students.

``We have the strong belief that whatever funds the government released to us for the purpose of students’ feeding is a public trust which we must account before the Almighty Allah, so we must hold that trust with the fear of God,`` he said.

The secretary said that the agency planned to conduct seminars and workshops for the officials to enable them to brace up to the challenges of the system.

Earlier, the chairman of the association, Malam Rabiu Bello, had commended the management of the agency for its financial discipline and resource management.

He assured the management of the support and cooperation of the feeding officers in order to make the agency a model in the state.
