Ministry of Power Assures Nigerians of Stable Power Supply

Mr Cdon Adinuba, Special Adviser on Media to Prof. Barth Nnaji, the Minister of Power, gave the assurance in an interview in Lagos.

He said that increase in gas supply and the ongoing rehabilitation of all hydro-power stations in the country had contributed to the stable power supply that Nigerians had begun witnessing.

``We are assuring Nigerians that the country's power supply will improve grossly.

``By August, the country's power generation will increase geometrically and it will be stable,’’ Adinuba said.

He added: ``About 160 megawatts out of 3,800 megawatts are reserved, while we have introduced a better water management system to ensure water conservation.’’

The special adviser said that the management of PHCN had introduced techniques to conserve water during the rainy season for use in the dry season.

He further said that effective distribution of the abundant gas to power stations would equally boost the country's power generation drive.
