The airline said in a statement by its Head, Corporate Communications, Tony Usidamen, that it would soon commence flight operations and a date of resumption will be announced in due course.
“Maximum effort is currently being made by the airline and its insurers to ensure that all insurance claims are fully settled in accordance with applicable law.
“We are aware of the challenges being faced by many families in securing Grants of Probate or Letters of Administration from the Probate Registry, a requirement for full settlement of claims, and would like to offer our assurances that payment would be made shortly after presentation of the required document and authentification by the Probate Registry.
“The provision of safe, reliable world-class air transport services has always been our focus at Dana Air and we will continue to adhere strictly to safety procedures as required by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Act and all other relevant local and international regulations..”
Dana Air’s licence was suspended after one of its aircraft crashed on a scheduled Abuja – Lagos flight on June 3, 2012, leading to the deaths of 153 passengers and crew and four other persons on the ground.
