Acoording to reports, no fewer than 147 students have benefited from the scheme since its inception in 2010

Ijioma said that school management would continue to sustain the scheme, adding that the bursary will immensely assist less privileged students and encourage academic excellence.

According to her, school management will soon meet to determine those that will benefit from the scheme in the 2012/13 academic year.

She said the decision to introduce the scheme was in accordance with her promise when she assumed office in 2010 as part of effort to enhance academic performance.

The provost also said that school management had embarked on massive renovations of dilapidated class rooms and school hostels to make academic environment conducive for students.

She said that the overhead subventions of the institution from the Federal Government was not enough to carry out all the necessary projects.

She said that the school’s internal generated revenue were being used to augment the award.

Ijioma, however, enjoined students to shun violence and anti social activities that could distract management from its development plans.
