The team’s Media Officer, Ejiro Femi Babafemi, said in a statement on Wednesday, after the match, that Okon told a post- match conference that he anticipated a tough game, given the level of opposition.
``We played against a good side and I must praise them," the statement quoted Okon as saying.
``But my girls were equal to the task. We wanted the victory but a draw is not a bad result either. Our focus is on our next game against Italy, which we have to win’’.
It said that a draw with Italy would, however, see Nigeria through to the last eight should Korea defeat or draw with Brazil.
It also pointed out that Brazil's needed an outright victory in the encounter with Korea to be in contention.
Meanwhile, Nigeria still tops the group with four points from two matches and are followed by Korea Republic with three points. Brazil is third with two points and Italy fourth with a point.
The Falconets, who led the game from the 44th minute were denied a second victory by Brazil who got a late equaliser in in 87th minute in the match in Saitama, Japan.
A superb shot from Francisca Ordega had put Nigeria in the driving seat until it was cancelled by Brazil's Giovanna Olivera.
This would be the first time that Nigeria would be conceding a goal right from the African qualifiers.
The encounter was physical that it produced six yellow cards with four going to Nigeria and two to the South Americans.
